The Solution Architect (SA) is a subject matter expert and business process technologist who works as part of a team to define and solution the design and implementation of Anthology’s student information system (SIS), Anthology Student. Operatives in this role will architect design decisions across development, configuration, integration, infrastructure, security, and change management. In addition to their technical knowledge, Solution Architects need to have the ability to engage with business users and decision makers at all levels. SAs partner with team members across the Professional Services organization in the discovery, design, and ETL of the client’s solution, including participation in and/or conducting business process review. The SA solutions streamlined business processes and workflows, maximizes existing platforms, and embraces modern technologies and methods.

 

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership and ensuring the overall solution success, providing critical guidance and support from pre-sales through end of project lifecycle
  • Participating in solution discovery sessions and documentation, based on industry best practices as well as identifying and architecting solutions to solve clients’ challenges
  • Guides implementation team with data conversion quality, configuration, functional design documentation, and user acceptance testing. 
  • Partnering with other Anthology ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) teams to tailor the solution to specific business needs and defining functional requirements for integration needs
  • Managing shared responsibility of Functional and Technical teams during implementation to ensure solutions and modifications are designed with integrity and documentation is adhered to
  • Following the prescribed Anthology implementation methodology and tools, understanding the key activities and deliverables for client engagement and internal projects.
  • Driving continuous process improvement in the implementation methodology and best practices
  • Engaging in continuous learning for product release readiness, including participating in internal User Acceptance Testing
  • Coaching and mentoring Implementation Consultants to further their professional growth and development
  • Submitting Time and Expense Reports each week according to company policy
  • Participating in after-hour meetings with management and clients, as needed
  • This role requires approximately 75% travel

 

The Candidate: 

Required skills/qualifications: 

  • 8+ years’ experience in higher education with focus on business process modeling, technical writing, and software implementation
  • 5+ years working with project teams in software installation, configuration, customization, administration, or implementation
  • Demonstrated experience conducting presentations, conducting one-on-one and/or on-the-job training, classroom training and/or online training
  • Exposure and/or hands-on data management and transformation, or intermediate experience with data management tools such as Excel Power Query and Power Pivot
  • Adaptability to quickly learn evolving technologies highly desired, including ability to provide high-level explanations of other Anthology products and services beneficial client’s business success
  • Proven record of accomplishment building customer relationships, persuading, and influencing decisions and overcoming objections
  • Evidence of highly adaptive networking skills that promote and establish strong internal relationships to achieve results
  • Ability to communicate well - written and verbal, and converse via on-camera teleconference meetings

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Relational database management, cloud/web platforms, security measures, and DevOps including queries, reporting, and administration
  • Expertise in all Microsoft Office applications including O365, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint. Previous experience with other software applications such as database and reporting programs
  • Understanding of business intelligence tools, MS Power BI
