We are seeking a Product Manager to assist in the strategic direction and adoption of Anthology Student in the areas of Admissions, Academic planning, Student advising, Financial Aid, Student Services, and Reporting. This person will be highly engaged with product users, account managers, and the sales team serving higher education institutions in North America.

 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding and advocating for the voice of the customer as well as developing a comprehensive understanding of the competitors. Evolving current product capabilities to maintain and ultimately redefine industry leadership in Higher Education
  • Defining new solutions and enhancements; assisting in the development and management of solution vision and roadmaps in collaboration with others
  • Serving as the expert for the enhancements by evangelizing the vision with other product owners, development, sales, client services and account management
  • Managing new enhancements within the Product lifecycle and profitability - from concept through production
  • Demonstrating proficient use and knowledge of established standards and procedures 
  • Consistently demonstrating quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
  • Attending industry trade shows and customer meetings - this includes presenting at our annual user conference
  • Teaming with Sales, Customer Service, Client Management, Marketing, Product Development and Product Management to define, develop, market, sell and deliver the product and Product Value Story in accordance with the company’s product release process
  • Developing a four-quarter roadmap for your area
  • Partnering with Product Development to communicate product requirements and determine viable development strategies, deliverables, and release dates to deliver per the defined roadmap
  • Providing quality, written content documentation (epics, stories)
  • Providing product-specific support to Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Professional Services and Training teams
  • Maintaining an understanding of key drivers, issues and players in the higher ed constituent experience market 
  • This role requires approximately 30% travel

 

 

The Candidate: 

Required skills/qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial software product owner and/or product management
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve results
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities 
  • A results/solution driven approach
