The Global Proposal Management team manages all aspects of proposal development and effectively works across the organization to obtain information and content needed to deliver a compelling and compliant proposal. The team is responsible for ensuring that our clients and prospects receive proposals that are compliant, on time, high quality, compelling, visually stunning, and strategic. We are responsible for submitting all RFI, RFP, etc., responses around the globe. We are part of a close-knit team of peers and teammates who support, help, and learn from each other.

 

 

Responsibilities include the introduction and implementation of all necessary proposal procedures and processes. The Proposal Manager will coordinate and produce the proposal response while assembling a proposal team with the relevant service/product/business knowledge required to win. The position is a highly networked role that requires working under pressure and challenging deadlines.

 

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating successful assessment of all bids assigned to support bid qualification decisions
  • Holding all response team members accountable for delivering quality content on time
  • Quickly identifying areas of the response that will require additional work, clarification, or escalation to ensure that we can meet submission deadlines
  • Delivering compliant, professionally produced proposals within defined timeframes
  • Scheduling proposal kickoff and strategy calls with appropriate participants, ensuring kickoff and strategy roles have been clearly defined for a successful meeting
  • Coordinating and reviewing/editing proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, legal, and services
  • Communicating and influencing at a mid-level individual contributor capacity
  • Coaching sales teams and subject matter experts in persuasive writing and proposal best practice
  • Staying current on proposal best practices and market trends
  • Participating and engaging in all team meetings and activities
  • Documenting template management in line with company branding for a centralized Proposals Policies and Procedures manual
  • Maintaining RFP metadata so that we can analyze performance and share our growth and improvement with leadership
  • Producing graphic designs to complement proposal materials on occasion
  • Managing knowledge-based content

 

 

The Candidate: 

Required skills/qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent (English or Communication major preferred)
  • Prior experience including recent proposal writing, compelling business writing, or equivalent
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) best practices and Body of Knowledge – APMP Foundation level certification required or be ready to pass the exam in the first 180 days
  • Proven experience working with multiple geographically located teams
  • Experience managing large scale, complex bids with proven success
  • Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and decision-making
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Excellent oral communication skills - both presenting to teams as well as 1:1
  • Excellent written communication skills – both internal business communications (email, etc.) and compelling proposal writing
  • Mastery of Microsoft Word – ability to assemble an exceptional proposal
  • SharePoint and Microsoft Teams savvy – know how to sync files and manage versions
  • Ability to influence others and ensure deliverables are on time
  • Ability to thrive in a remote, global team working from home
  • Ability to conduct high-quality meetings via web conferencing tools
  • Demonstrate strong time management/prioritization skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to shift gears and priorities at a rapid pace

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications: 

  • Proposal automation software skills
  • Higher education software vertical experience
