We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Professional Services organization. A successful candidate will have experience working with educational technologies in a higher education, business, and/or governmental capacity. The candidate will have experience working with learning management systems.

 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as an expert in deployment methodologies
  • Managing and configuring deployments of all the extensions
  • Adhering to established delivery methodology, quality standards, and best practice
  • Serving as a strategic alliance between the product ops team and consulting
  • This role requires US citizenship to access the government cloud servers

 

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field (e.g. education, information technology, computer science, business) or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of work experience in setting up and administering DevOps environments
  • Strong expertise in any of the below tools and languages:
    • Build tools (Ant, Maven, Gradle, Node build tools/Webpack)
    • CI tools (Jenkins, Docker)
    • Deployment (AWS technologies/Helm/Terraform/CDK)
    • SCM (TFS, GIT)
    • Artifact repositories (Nexes, JFrog ArtiFactory)
    • Scripting (Python, Ant, Bash and Shell)
  • Experience in deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based systems, including serverless deployment using Lambda functions, etc.
  • Extensive understanding of CI best practices and tooling
  • Expertise in managing Cloud resources and good exposure on Docker
  • Familiarity with cloud logging analysis tools and skills at isolating issues for analysis and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a geographically distributed virtual team environment and to build relationships with internal and external organizations
  • Dynamic, creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Expertise in developing and managing build scripts for Java-based and JavaScript-based applications (i.e., Maven, Gradle, Node, Webpack)
