Anthology’s Director, Global Communications will develop and lead the strategy and execution of a communications plan to strengthen Anthology’s global brand awareness and reputation through earned and paid media, content development, speaking opportunities, and analyst engagement. As a key member of the Global Communications, Corporate Marketing, and Events team, the Director, Global Communications will play a leadership role in shaping company messaging with external audiences.

 

 

This role will lead efforts to drive global awareness of Anthology’s products, solutions, and business with media and analysts, working closely with the product team and marketing. This position will also play a leading role in managing and shaping Anthology’s response in crisis situations. 

 

 

The successful candidate must be able to function as a leader and individual contributor but also as part of a multi-functional team of stakeholders including the company’s senior leadership team, Human Resources, Product Management, and Global Marketing. This position reports to the Vice President of Global Communications, Corporate Marketing, and Events.

 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and managing the strategic plan for global PR, including media and analyst relations
  • Working with the Product, Global Marketing, and executive teams to craft external messaging and communications that describes the unique value of Anthology’s holistic EdTech solution
  • Identifying ways to increase/improve Anthology’s reputation around the globe working in partnership with Global Marketing
  • Providing external communications support for the CEO and company’s leadership team; creating consistency in messaging across business lines
  • Leading a team of Communications professionals in the US and around the globe, including external agencies
  • Serving as lead in crafting external messaging in crisis communications, working closely with Legal, IT, and other relevant teams
  • Supporting related communications activities where needed including internal communications, executive speaking, and brand activation activities

 

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of communications experience, preferably media relations in a corporate environment
  • Excellent writing, editing, spelling/grammar, messaging, positioning creation skills
  • Experience in message development and communications planning
  • Experience with external communications supporting company activities including M&A, reorganization, change management
  • Experience in shaping/managing corporate communications policy
  • Ability to build trust and productive working relationships with senior-level executives and key stakeholders across an organization
  • Ability to transform complex ideas into accessible, reader-friendly communications
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive assignments simultaneously
  • Experience managing a team

  • Prior experience in the technology or education industries
