Anthology’s Student Success organization supports Higher Education institutions to improve their student acquisition and retention functions. We do this through a broad set of capabilities that improve student engagement, student satisfaction, and outcomes. Our platform and solutions give institutions an efficient, financially sustainable way to deliver services through the enrollment and learning process. Our goal is to build a better educational experience for everyone by extending institutional resources to meet the growing demands of learners.



This position reports to the Product Management Director, and will be the primary interface between Product Management, Sales, Business Development, and the Student Success business unit. The candidate will understand the competitive landscape, and how the Student Success Enrollment services fit within the market. This role will generate new leads, create sales tools and collateral, perform product demonstrations, and otherwise drive and support the sales process for the assigned set of solutions.



This role will be measured on activity and closed sales related to current and prospective client conversations, generating new leads through outbound calls for events and client segmentation lists. Expectations also include the ability to explain, demonstrate, and prove the value of Student Success solutions. We listen and engage to understand our clients’ educational strategies and key initiatives so that we can identify critical capabilities where our solutions can deliver value.  The person in this role will routinely exercise independent judgement and discretion with respect to matters of significance to the company.



Primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Identifying opportunities from target accounts and communicating these potential opportunities effectively to appropriate team members. Focused mainly on Enrollment opportunities
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of the Enrollment target market, personas needs and pains, and associated buyer journey
  • Collaborating with Anthology sales leadership and marketing to develop demand programs that align with company, market, and sales focus areas
  • Defining solution positioning and messaging, including identification of client and prospect needs, and competitive differentiators
  • Working with the regional field marketing teams to communicate Anthology’s proposition to appropriate personas for customers and prospects
  • Identifying the key decision-makers at potential institutions and effectively communicating our value proposition to these key individuals
  • Influencing potential customers’ perception of Anthology solutions and services
  • Working closely within the Salesforce relationship management system to store intelligence and specific follow-ups for these potential opportunities
  • Defining solution campaign strategy and roadmap and creating compelling content to create awareness and drive leads
  • Being a reliable, thoughtful, effective voice for strategies and tactics to support the sales of portfolio solutions
  • Preparing for industry conferences by identifying top attendees and scheduling appointments for sales executives
  • Evangelizing Anthology solutions at industry conferences and online forums as a presenter and educational technology expert
  • This role requires approximately 10% travel



The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of applicable pre-sales B2B product, services, or solutions marketing experience
  • A minimum of an associate’s degree
  • Practical experience creating product messaging and positioning
  • Experience conducting dynamic and well-informed on-line sales presentations and product demos for potential customers
  • Ability to translate client needs into marketing requirements and effective messaging and positioning
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to communicate effectively to different teams within Anthology’s Student Success organization and across external partners
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
    • A can-do attitude with passion and enthusiasm



Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business
  • Familiarity with principles of content marketing and demand generation
  • Knowledge of Enrollment products and services. 
  • Knowledge of both the higher education market and the commerce/security industry
  • Experience with Salesforce
