The Release Manager is responsible for overall coordination across many critical Cloud Operations business functions including Release Management and Deployment Scheduling.  The ideal candidate will possess strong problem solving and time management skills as well as excellent communication skills for internal and external C-level communications. A thorough understanding of SaaS software delivery and SCRUM development methodologies is preferred.

 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating releases in advance of GA across customer and product base
  • Aligning release activities and deliverables to drive rapid deployments with high quality
  • Creating an environment whereby the teams are informed and in agreement on delivery goals, complex dependencies, and exception processes
  • In partnership with multiple leaders, tracking and communicating to stakeholders information such as release calendar, risks and risk mitigation strategies, impediments, and status
  • Assisting the team in establishing a consistent and predictable release cadence
  • Identifying and facilitating the removal of team impediments and escalating as appropriate
  • In coordination with Managers, facilitating cross-organization coordination and collaboration to solve needs for complex testing, validation, and deployments
  • Tracking and reporting on release deployment success and opportunities  
  • Maintaining release program documentation and training materials
  • Driving consistency and maturity of the release program across product teams
  • Logging enhancement requests and coordinating across teams to ensure items are prioritized and delivered quickly

 

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • At least 3-5 years of experience managing technical teams
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and SharePoint
  • An understanding of work management tools like Azure DevOps (ADO) and ServiceNow
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation, and business writing skills
  • Influential leader with the ability to lead high-profile cross-organizational initiatives with limited authority
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed for calls with global workforce and customer base

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Experience with reporting tools like PowerBI, Azure DevOps and ServiceNow
