As a member of Anthology Brno’s Product Development and Delivery team, you will join a group responsible for industry-leading SaaS products. Our team includes engineers, designers, and product managers, all focused on improving student success around the globe. We believe in agile practices to build our software and in continuously delivering features and improvements to our users. You are a person who is always pushing your teammates to do their best work and intolerant of anything else. Our team believes that a successful product is built by working with designers, product managers, and operators to understand the full cycle of software development.


 
Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing problems and program solutions that appropriately trade off architectural constraints of functionality, usability, performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Implementing new services, program components, and supporting infrastructure as well as writing/modifying SQL programs
  • Designing and implementing database schema changes to support new functionality
  • Working with peers to determine long-term architectural direction
  • Supporting application during quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and post release
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and implementing performance tuning functions in support of the operational baseline
  • Complying with and contributing to consistent development guidelines (coding, change control, build, versioning)

 


The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Knowledge of software development in large-scale, multi-platform environments 
  • Experience with AWS Cloud and services, Python language
  • Experience with both relational database management systems and document-oriented databases 
  • Hands-on development experience using service-oriented architecture (SOA) and web services
  • Data structure, algorithm analysis and design skills  
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full SDLC 
  • Experience developing applications for a continuous delivery lifecycle
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related area of study

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
