We are building up a group within Anthology focused on the data platform. This team’s mission is to bring data together from across Anthology’s extensive product lines into our cloud-based data lake. We are the analytics and data experts at Anthology. Our team enables other development teams to utilize the data lake strategically and effectively for a variety of Anthology products. We deliver products and services for analytics, data science, business intelligence, and reporting.

 

 

As a Software Engineer in Test, you’ll focus on providing support for test development and execution against Anthology's new feature and legacy system releases. 

 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Becoming an active member of an agile team of developers participating in daily stand-ups, design sessions, code reviews, and sprint demos
  • Creating and maintaining automation frameworks and testing tools
  • Developing the test strategy for features, incorporating the right balance of different testing approaches
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining complex testing environments, performing all aspects of verification including functional, regression, load, and system testing as well as documentation
  • Working in a Scrum team focused on building functionality for the data platform
  • Through continued iteration on existing development processes, ensuring that we’re leading by example, fixing things that aren’t working, and always improving our expectations of ourselves and others
  • Thriving in the face of difficult problems
  • Working independently with general supervision

 

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in the QA department (both manual and automated testing)
  • Strong experience with designing, implementing, and executing test scenarios
  • Strong orientation to detail and problem solving
  • Good experience with project and code management systems (Confluence, Jira, GitHub)
  • Good experience with developing test automation scripts for web applications and REST APIs
  • Good experience with test automation tools and frameworks (such as Selenium, Robot Framework, Cypress.io, Postman)
  • Knowledge of unit test frameworks (such as PyTest, Junit, TestNG)
  • Hands-on experience with RDBMS (such as Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and the ability to also write more complex SQL queries
  • Hands-on experience with at least one scripting language (TypeScript, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Hands-on experience with OOP language (preferably Python or Java)
  • Hands-on experience with REST API, HTTP, HTML, JSON/XML
  • Familiarity with ETL processes
  • Familiarity with the AWS tool suite (Lambda, CDK, CloudFront, S3)

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications: 

  • 2-5 years of experience
