We are currently seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with solid project leadership skills for a project manager position with significant knowledge in finance, HR, and payroll (FHP), preferably in the higher ed space. This role will be working with very large-scale and costly projects with highly visible clients externally and executive Anthology leadership internally. Candidates should be able to capably communicate and present themselves appropriately for a variety of audiences from staff level to executive level both internally and externally. Responsibilities include handling all traditional project management functions as well as other PM duties as determined by the lead PM and Program Director. Specifically, this role oversees the FHP workstream’s daily project management functions to ensure deadlines are met as well as compliance with Anthology’s PM methodology in conjunction with project compliance requirements for assigned clients. 

 

 

This role will be responsible for coordinating FHP key project activities, project scheduling, resource management, project communications (both internal and external), maintaining the project management tracking site (i.e., ensuring FHP project documents and artifacts are posted), following up with FHP team members on assigned tasks and deliverables, and coordinating all FHP efforts in association with the overall management of the program under the daily direction of the lead PM. This role requires independent management of all duties, tasks and assignments and will also serve as an on-site client relationship and liaison between the client and Anthology as required. Strong, sensible, appropriate, and consistent communication skills are a must. Emphasis will be placed on interacting and communicating with project team members, project leadership, Anthology leaders and executives, client project team members, client project leadership, and client stakeholders and executives.

The FHP PM will report to the Program Director and Lead Project Manager and will work closely with both internal FHP team members as well as FHP team members representing the client. The mission of this role is to help the project meet quality standards and deliver on time and within budget. The ideal candidate for this role will have knowledge and/or experience in finance, HR, and payroll in higher education as well as experience using project management software and tools.

 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Daily management of FHP project activities in line with approved scope, schedule, and budget as directed by the lead project manager and program director
  • Maintaining accountability for all FHP project related documentation including functional and technical materials with minimal supervision
  • Establishing positive, professional relationship with both internal staff and client staff inclusive of professional demeanor, conduct, and appearance
  • Managing project scope and deliverables of FHP per approved Statements of Work
  • Ensuring project governance structure is adhered to in accordance with Anthology’s implementation methodology and defined roles and responsibilities
  • Supporting the project communication strategy including regular project and executive status reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Nurturing positive client relationships
  • Managing conflicting client requests and complex issues/problems
  • Providing oversight to resolve complex problems and competing priorities in conjunction with the project manager
  • Collaborating with internal and external project team members to manage expectations and influence change when necessary
  • Collaborating and coordinating the work activities and resources with the FHP Delivery Owner (DO), Lead DO and Lead PM. Establishing a cohesive relationship with other solution areas such as Student Information System (SIS) and Reach
  • Assisting the lead PM with project administration, i.e., project deliverables, activities, resource planning, budget planning/reporting, scope management, etc.
  • Supervising and delegating tasks to client and project team members as required
  • Assisting with planning and implementation strategies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supporting the lead PM and the Program Director on internal and external project status reporting
  • Assessing project risk, monitor progress, and alerting Program Director and Project Manager to issues as they arise for the FHP workstream
  • Collaborating on stakeholder presentations
  • Fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • This role requires up to 50% travel to client site to support the needs of Anthology, the client, and the project

 

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8 or more years working in a professional services delivery environment or equivalent project management experience
  • Advanced skills in successfully managing complex enterprise level projects to completion within a defined scope, schedule, and budget
  • Proven project management experience as a senior/lead PM over large-scale projects/program
  • Knowledge of PMBOK, standard PM methodologies, processes, procedures, and practices
  • Possess personal and professional maturity, proven judgement skills, and client relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate both internal and client-facing meetings
  • Highly developed client-facing skills, including proven listening skills and the ability to network with client staff
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly to explain Anthology products and services to clients with a focus on finance, HR, and payroll solutions
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and task management/multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Attention to details even under pressure and time constraints
  • Planning and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong meeting planning and coordination both internally and externally
  • Proficient in MS Office products including Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Experience in the education industry specifically experience with finance, HR, or payroll operations and/or technologies
  • Experience with large-scale and highly complex ERP projects/programs
  • PMP certification 
  • SharePoint experience
