The Anthology legal team, consisting of Attorneys and Contracts Managers (non-legal professionals), is focused on regularly working across internal corporate functions with sales personnel, technical and product personnel, and central corporate functions on contract matters and on drafting and negotiating contracts. The legal team has a tremendous wealth of experience in technology contracts in the education space and maintains a solid track record of finding the right people to work with and train to be a part of the team. This Contracts Manager position supports the negotiating of license and service agreements and statements of work with clients.
 

 

A successful candidate will be a bright, energetic professional with an interest in the preparation and negotiation of software license and service agreements and statements of work in support of a global sales organization. 
 

 
Primary responsibilities include:

  • Negotiating software license agreements, professional services agreements, statements of work, contract addenda and contract renewals; routinely exercising discretion and independent judgment in the negotiation of contracts and in the monitoring of their performance and execution
  • Reviewing contractual terms and conditions arising in the context of RFPs, Tenders, RFIs, and RFQs, offering appropriate alternatives to contract terms and conditions considering the business needs
  • Providing clarification of contract terms and conditions to the sales team
  • Interpreting contract policies, operating practices, and performance standards within the Contracts team
  • Communicating with customers during the contract negotiation process
  • Providing operational support for the contracting process

 


The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with contract management and negotiation
  • A university degree or equivalent experience in areas such as business, engineering and/or international commerce
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above
  • Understanding of the development, negotiation, and execution of contracts
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Desire to succeed in a client service-oriented environment
  • Highly efficient and organized; ability to handle multiple tasks with ease and professionalism
  • Ability to be proactive, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines in a service oriented and aggressive sales driven environment
  • Speed and accuracy
  • Proven analytical and written and oral communication skills

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • 3+ years software and services contract management/negotiation or similar experience in a high-tech organization
  • SaaS experience
  • SalesForce.com experience
  • SharePoint experience
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Higher Ed or public-sector contracts experience
  • Familiarity with software and hardware corporate revenue recognition issues, and contractual concepts regarding software contracts and licensing
