The Enterprise Architecture Director within Anthology’s Solution Consultants team acts as a strategic partner with the Global Markets team to understand, articulate, and communicate the value of the Anthology suite of products. The Director is responsible for demonstrating the architecture and vision to a prospect and/or client on an enterprise level. The Enterprise Architecture Director participates in creating technical strategies and policies to meet overall business goals. This person will add value throughout the sales process in requirements analysis, value assessments, solution development, tailored technical demonstrations, building POCs, and the transition to professional services to ensure our clients are successful. The ideal candidate remains poised and professional under stressful conditions and maintains a calm, patient demeanor while driving to meet deadlines.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Clearly articulating the technical architecture of the Anthology Suite of products to prospective clients across all levels of the institution
- Conducting discovery sessions with prospective clients to determine their operational challenges and pain points
- Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies
- Developing and presenting high-impact client-specific technical demonstrations to support the sales process
- Leading the technical effort during the sales process
- Identifying Anthology solutions that will deliver impact to prospects and customers
- Developing proof of concepts and contributing in the development of business cases that monetize the potential value of the solution that will be delivered
- Acting as a key contributor to sales strategy and competitive win plans.
- Providing input and content for RFI/RFP responses and value assessments
- Supporting the sales-to-services process
- Working directly with Sales Leaders for strategy and alignment of solutions with the sales need
- Directing and collaborating with other Practice Directors/Managers, Product Managers, Product Development and Architecture, Professional Services, Cloud Services and Client Support
- Working with all IT functions with our customers and prospective customers, you will elicit requirements, champion standards, and assist in the implementation of major IT initiatives, and help demonstrate and articulate secure, reliable, and scalable solutions
- Providing senior-level expertise on decisions and priorities
- Participating in design sessions, performing technology assessments, health checks, and process milestone reviews to ensure the right solutions are correctly demonstrated
- Reviewing solution options, researching and analyzing alternatives and recommending solutions to business and technology leadership
- Engaging with the Anthology community, global partners, institutions, and others to establish strong relationships that will help our organization and identify opportunities for collaboration in strategic technologies
- Instilling trust: gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity, empowering individuals and cultivating collaborative relationships
- Acting with transparency: communicating effectively, explaining why decisions are made, and clarifying expectations for a successful delivery
- Providing coaching and mentoring to technical staff to develop architecture skills
- Managing the Sales Demo Environment; collaborating with cloud services for performance, installs, maintenance, and upgrades of applications and platforms regularly
- Managing the escalation of infrastructure issues and collaboration with the client services team
- Providing pre-sales and post-sales support
- Attending trade exhibitions, conferences, and meeting
- Assisting with qualifying and hiring new candidates as needed
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- 5 or more years of hands-on technical experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Science and Technology
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) - Minimum of one Microsoft Certification
- 5 or more years of experience with:
- IMS Standards
- Design Patterns
- Architectures (Workflow based, Power Automate, SOA/Web Services, n-Tier, Message broker, Azure)
- Languages (C#)
- Azure SQL
- Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure Data Factory, Data Lakes
- Azure DevOps and GitHub
- Architecture-level expertise in implementing SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), EAI (Enterprise Application Integration), EII (Enterprise Information Integration), B2B (Business to Business), B2C (Business to Consumer), High performance/High concurrency solutions using C# web services, message-oriented middleware like Azure Service Bus, Microsoft Azure platform, BizTalk using Business Rules and Azure SQL Server
- Well-versed with various software development methodologies and processes including Agile, Scrum, as well as the traditional waterfall methodology
- Great oral and written communication skills
- Professional, leader, motivator, actions, results, quality-oriented, proactive, and responsive
- Must be open to frequent travel
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Higher education experience specializing in SIS, CRM, Financial Aid, HR, and Payroll
- Public sector experience
