Anthology is looking for a motivated, highly skilled, quality-minded, and detail-oriented individual to join our team. As Senior Security Technical Writer you will develop and curate cybersecurity content including security plans, policies, standards, processes, and procedures. You will work alongside security professionals to develop and maintain these documents that align with the organization’s business objectives and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.  This is a full-time position with a competitive salary based on your experience and portfolio. 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and writing technical documentation that supports cybersecurity policies, processes, and procedures, including security plans, standard operating procedures, incident response plans, and other technical documents
  • Collaborating with cybersecurity teams, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to gather information and develop technical documentation
  • Ensuring that technical documentation is accurate, complete, and meets the needs of the intended audience
  • Keeping up to date with changes in cybersecurity policies and regulations and ensuring that technical documentation is updated accordingly
  • Obtaining a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
  • Researching, creating, and maintaining information architecture templates and standards that uphold organizational and legal standards
  • Evaluating current content and developing innovative approaches for improvement
  • Helping maintain templated security responses to RFP and RFI requests from clients

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating written content for diverse audiences. Candidates will have a portfolio that demonstrates a range of writing styles and mastery of complex cybersecurity topics.

 

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Formal training or a demonstrated knowledge of cyber security 
  • Good technical computing expertise with working knowledge of security controls for networks, systems, databases, and enterprise applications as well as knowledge of system life cycle methodologies to include risk management and configuration management
  • Excellent technical writing skills (English) and ability to understand and translate complex cyber security requirements into clear and organized written form
  • Thorough understanding of Information Security and Compliance requirements
  • Strong knowledge and working experience within security and risk methodologies, frameworks, and technologies
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of technical documentation in information security and compliance
  • At least 5 years technical documentation experience
  • Experience working cross-departmentally to communicate the nuts and bolts of a product
  • Strong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • A positive attitude; willing to jump in and tackle new challenges

  

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Knowledge of U.S. federal and state cybersecurity compliance programs (e.g., FedRAMP, TX-RAMP or StateRAMP)
  • Ability to explain NIST standards and associate with enterprise policy, standards, and procedures
  • Enjoys working as part of a team in a collaborative environment
