The Global Proposal Management team manages all aspects of proposal development and effectively works across the organization to obtain information and content needed to deliver a compelling and compliant proposal. The team is responsible for ensuring that our clients and prospects receive proposals that are compliant, on time, high quality, compelling, visually stunning, and strategic. We are responsible for the submission of all RFI, RFP, etc., responses around the globe. We are part of a close-knit team of peers and teammates who support, help, and learn from each other.     

     

The Associate Proposal Manager role is a new but critical part of the Global Proposal Management Team. You will support our North American and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) sales teams in responding to competitive tenders by managing high-quality proposals that maximize our chance of retaining existing clients and winning new business. In this role, you will lead the proposal development process, manage all aspects of proposal development, and effectively work across the organization to obtain information and content needed to deliver a compelling and compliant proposal. Up to one year of experience in preparation of proposals and bids, sales support role or similar would help but is not essential as full training/onboarding is given.    

     

Primary responsibilities will include:     

  • Reviewing and analyzing assigned RFx and articulating to the response team the key information that will influence bid decisions, development, and strategy
  • Owning the RFP response – holding all response team members accountable for delivering high-quality content effectively and efficiently
  • Scheduling and leading kick-off calls to understand the complete project, history, win themes, and potential red flags, and gain agreement on project milestones and deliverables
  • Ensuring RFP/tender data is maintained accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Compiling edits and comments into a single draft document while maintaining version control
  • Editing or writing non-functional responses as needed
  • Staying current on proposal best practices and market trends
  • Participating and engaging in all team meetings and activities to maintain our culture
  • This role requires occasional travel

     

The Candidate:      

Required skills/qualifications:      

  • Bachelor’s degree or high-level qualification in an IT, Education, Communication, Project Management, or similar field
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) best practices and Body of Knowledge – APMP Foundation level certification required or be ready to pass the exam in the first 180 days
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong IT skills with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and email
  • Excellent presentation skills, both to teams as well as 1:1
  • Attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly and embrace improvements and change
  • Creative and innovative thinking
  • Relationship-building and influencing skills
  • Coachable – able to take and give feedback openly and honestly
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive whilst working remotely and independently
  • Excellent team working and time management skills
  • Excellent customer focus, attention to detail, and commitment to quality
  • Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and decision-making

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

     

Preferred skills/qualifications:    

  • Higher education software vertical experience

     

Pay range is $55,000- $63,000/year depending upon experience. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
