The Anthology Global Renewals team is focused on partnering with our internal field teams and our strategic partners to secure long-term relationships with our customers with a focus on improving our customers experiences with Anthology and expanding on the broad range of innovative products/services which will deliver continuous improvement in their learning ecosystem. The Senior Manager on the Renewals team will report into the Vice President of Renewals and provide leadership support for the global team.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Directly managing a team
  • Executing renewal process improvements
  • Achieving financial and strategic targets for minimizing attrition, positioning favorable terms, and boosting incremental revenue
  • Developing and implementing renewal playbooks to ensure execution of the larger Anthology renewal, upsell, and cross-sell strategies
  • Establishing, documenting, and monitoring compliance with best practices for all internal processes including, but not limited to, opportunity management, data quality and accuracy, quotes and forecasting
  • Accurately maintaining/updating a rolling 120 day forecast of your team and communicating any renewal risk to internal resources to develop resolution strategies
  • Working collaboratively with the internal account management, customer success, and channel sales teams to develop and deliver win/win proposals which incorporate product/service expansion opportunities and maximize contract value
  • Ensuring quality of workflows to ensure timely processing of renewal contracts
  • Implementing system automation strategies to improve overall renewal experience
  • Working with teams to uncover roadblocks or risks and demonstrating strong account management and commercial capabilities to drive renewal to on-time closure
  • Providing business leaders with complete visibility to renewals with regular updates on status and forecasts and solicit executive involvement as required
  • Proactively positioning product releases and new offerings to increase customer success and sense of value for their investment with Anthology
  • Using internal sales management and quoting tools successfully
  • This role requires approximately 20% travel

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience working in a Renewals, Customer Success or Account Management role at a Software-as-a-Service technology company.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in consultative selling, renewals, customer success or account management in an enterprise/solution and/or technical sales environment with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity
  • Strong internal and external relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and proficiency with Salesforce and Excel
  • Highly developed customer service and customer satisfaction focus with an ability to navigate complex contracting/negotiations.
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and continuously perform against varied responsibilities for both customer success and timely renewals.
  • Past success in operating within a fast-paced, multi-disciplined virtual team.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Knowledge of higher education, corporate and government procurement processes
  • Experience and and/or strong knowledge of the higher education, corporate and government learning programs, and e-learning initiatives
  • Experience in a cloud technology-focused position within a US Government agency
  • Advanced degree

Pay range is $103,000 - $125,000/year depending upon experience. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
